The SKED team primarily offers a 3D printing services. We have extensive
expertise in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printing and resin 3D printing.
These methods of 3D printing are a good choice for the production of plastic
parts in varying dimensions and complexities.
The FFF 3D printing method involves melting a filament through a nozzle. The
material is precisely deposited at a specific location through a program
executed by the machine. After several layers are deposited, the result is a 3D
object. To simplify, we can imagine a paper printer where ink is layered to
create a depth effect. Generally, the layers have a thickness of 0.2mm,
equivalent to 2 to 4 standard sheets of paper. This method is useful for creating
complex parts, batch productions, prototypes and more. A wide range of
materials and colors are available for FFF printing.
Although resin 3D printing achieves much higher precision than FFF printing,
the process is more complex. The average layer thickness is 0.05mm, which is
equivalent to 1 to 2 human hairs. Parts are created from a resin vat, where a
LCD screen flashes to polymerize the resin at precise locations. Thanks to the
high precision of this manufacturing method, it is possible to create molds,
realistic figurines, and other items requiring fine details. However, resin printing
requires more preparation and post-printing steps, such as alcohol cleaning and
UV curing to stabilize the part and make it manipulable by hand.

Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD)
La CAO permet de concrétiser une idée, un croquis. Le but est d’obtenir un modèle 3D qui peut être exporté afin de fabriquer une pièce ou réaliser un assemblage. La CAO inclut aussi la création de plans où les dimensions critiques et les tolérances du produit sont notés pour créer un assemblage fonctionnel. La CAO permet en plus une modification rapide au modèle à des fins d’itérations ou d’amélioration. En conception, il est possible de créer un simple boulon à une structure comparable au stade olympique. Cet outil est derrière une vaste majorité des objets avec lesquels nous interagissions au quotidien.
